FAQ

Questions, answered

Do I have to stop using paper menus?

No. Keep them. QR is an extra option for guests who want it.

Do guests need to download an app?

No. They scan the code and the menu opens in their phone's browser.

Does it work with my till?

Not directly yet. Guests can pay at the till as normal, or online through your own Stripe account. A Square integration is on the roadmap.

Can guests pay or split the bill at the table?

Yes, if you take card payments through your own Stripe account. Guests can pay the whole table's bill, split it equally, or pay for just their own orders. Orders only show as paid once Stripe confirms the money, and staff can clear a table when they take payment at the till.

Can staff take orders for guests who don't want to use their phone?

Yes. Servers can key in an order on a tablet. It goes to the kitchen screen like any other order, with the same prices and stock rules.

Can it print kitchen tickets?

Yes. Each ticket can be printed from the kitchen screen in an 80mm receipt layout, or new tickets can print automatically on that device. It uses whichever printer the tablet or computer is set up with.

What if the Wi-Fi or internet drops?

Guests use their own mobile data to order. If your kitchen screen loses connection it shows a warning, and staff can keep taking orders by hand.

Do you take a cut of my sales?

No. You pay a flat monthly fee. Online card payments go straight to your own Stripe account at Stripe's standard rates.

Who owns my data?

You do. You can export your menus and orders as CSV at any time.

Who is responsible for allergen information?

You are. You enter and confirm the 14 regulated allergens and any cross-contact notes for each dish. Items can't go live until you confirm them, and guests are always asked to speak to staff about allergies.

How does the Google review button work?

It opens Google's review page for your venue. Every guest sees the same button; we don't filter out unhappy guests, which Google doesn't allow. Private feedback gives guests a way to tell you directly too.

Is the prize wheel a lottery?

The game and its prize wheel are a promotion you control. It's off by default. Before switching it on, have your promotion terms reviewed by a qualified adviser; the system records that confirmation. Guests can always play once without buying anything, and there are no cash prizes.

Can I cancel any time?

Monthly plans can be cancelled at any time. Yearly plans run for the year you've paid for.

How long does setup take?

Usually about a week from first meeting to first service. Setup is £249 + VAT, or half price with a yearly plan.

Is there a free trial?

Yes. Your first venue is free for 15 days with Professional features, and no card is needed. Choose a plan during the trial and your free days carry over, so the first charge lands when they run out.

When is the setup fee charged?

It's one-off and billed with your first payment. For example, Professional monthly is £69 + £249 setup = £318 + VAT for the first payment, then £69 a month.

What happens if a card payment for my plan fails?

Ordering and the kitchen screen keep running during a grace period while we contact you, so a failed card never stops a dinner service. Your data is never deleted because of a billing issue.
